Tanzania has warm, tropical weather all year, but conditions change by season and region. In general, temperatures range between 15^oC – 28^oC. The weather is sunny, dry with low humidity. Mornings and evenings are usually cool. Highlands and mountains are much cooler and nights can be near freezing at high altitudes. The dry season from June to October is the best time for travelers to visit Tanzania for safaris and mountain trekking. Coastal areas including Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Bagamoyo are usually hot and humid with temperatures ranging between 25^oC – 32^oC. The period between November and December experiences light and brief shower, usually in the afternoons. Landscapes turn green but still very good for travel and wildlife viewing. Long and heavy rains happen around March to May, with some roads becoming muddy. This is the cheapest travel period, also known as low season.
